about noneck

For the last 10 years, "noneck" has explored innovative technologies and the creative space that links us together. His work has focused on increasing organizational transparency while lowering the operational cost of technology; organizing the Open NY Forum and NYC's bike geeks; forged the idea of a cycling hashtag for NYC, #BikeNYC.

Notably, he co-founded the NYC's Drupal user group and hosted the first DrupalCamp. He's journeyed around the world documenting the communities that live on the Internet, and life-casted the process of becoming a New York City Yellow Cab driver. He is an Eagle Scout, a member of the Royal Society for the encouragement of Art, Manufactures & Commerce and member of the British Council's Transatlantic Network 2020 program.

From 2009 till 2011, he served the New York State Senate as the Director of Technology Innovation where his team launched NYSenate.gov, one USA's premier state legislative portals; organized the first unconference inside a State house, CapitolCamp.

As of June 2011, noneck has joined the World Economic Forum. As the Director of Engagement Technologies he is networking nurds to build free and open source software to address the collective issues large organizations when opening up to the world.

Currently, he is on the board of advisors for Digital Democracy and CivicCommons.

personal statement

my life started the 24th of May. as a gemini, i am constantly doing new and interesting things to impact the world. in the spirt of the original scouting oath, i will always do my best, to fulfill my duties and help others at all times.

i am blessed to have had the opportunities to explore life's constantly intersecting foot paths, and highways. through my 'round the world journeys, i've experienced our similarities and have seen our intertwined dependance. while i can not predict the future, i know change is constant.
